Thank you for choosing Big Blue Van. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the application includes:
Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, home address, and phone number, which you provide when you register or schedule a service with us.
Derived Data: Information our systems automatically collect when you access the application, such as browser/device type, pages viewed, referrer, and approximate access times.
Site analytics: First-party event data about how visitors use our site and booking flow (for example page views, entering a booking flow, addresses selected, calendar blocks chosen, quotes generated, and bookings completed). Analytics events are designed not to include email, phone, or VIN in the event payload itself.
2. Use of Your Information
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected via the application to:
Create and manage your account.
Schedule, manage, and fulfill vehicle service appointments for your fleet or personal vehicles.
Email, text, or call you regarding your service appointments, updates, account status, or to help complete a booking you started.
Improve the efficiency and operation of our mobile and on-site services.
Understand website traffic and the booking funnel so we can improve the customer experience.
Recognize return browsers and, after you sign in or submit contact details, associate that browsing activity with your client record so we can follow up on incomplete bookings and schedule service.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your data only with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our application or conducting our business, provided those parties agree to keep your information strictly confidential.
4. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
5. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to operate the site and to measure how it is used. This includes:
Account / session storage — keeps you signed in securely.
Booking helpers — temporary storage so referral codes, garage seeds, and quote drafts are not lost mid-session.
Visitor id (bbv_vid) — an anonymous cookie that helps us recognize return browsers over time.
Session helpers — short-lived browser storage that groups activity in one tab visit and records the first landing page.
First-party analytics events — page and funnel milestones stored in our own database for the Site Traffic admin tool. Owner/testing traffic and known automation sources are excluded from these records.
Client association — when you sign in or submit your contact information on the booking form, we may link your visitor id to your client record and stamp that association on related analytics events (including recent events from the same browser). This helps us see which customers started a booking and follow up to schedule service.
Approximate location — we estimate where a visit is coming from using the strongest signal available, then store only city/region (and coarse coordinates for mapping):
Browser location (optional) — your browser may ask for permission to share your device location. If you allow it, we reverse-geocode those coordinates to a city. If you deny or ignore the prompt, we skip this step.
IP lookup (fallback) — when browser location is unavailable, our servers briefly use your IP address to look up an approximate city/region, then discard the IP. We do not store the IP address.
Service / default address (preferred) — when you choose a saved or booking address, or when you are signed in with a default saved address, we use that city instead and may update recent analytics events for the same browser visitor so maps reflect the address you gave us rather than a coarser IP or browser estimate.
When you use address autocomplete, Google Maps / Places may set its own cookies to deliver that feature; those are controlled by Google.
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Doing so may sign you out and will create a new visitor id on your next visit.
